Live on Soundcheck: Christopher O’Riley and Matt Haimovitz
Monday, November 14, 2011
It is not unusual these days to find rap, classical, rock and jazz shoulder to shoulder on an iPod.
Cellist Matt Haimovitz and pianist Christopher O'Riley's new album Shuffle.Play.Listen fits right in. The two-disc album is a mix of Radiohead, Igor Stravinsky, Blonde Redhead, Astor Piazzolla and others arranged for cello and piano.
Here, watch O'Riley and Haimovitz play "Empty Room" by Arcade Fire (the members of which shop at the same Montreal supermarket as Haimovitz).
