Orgone
"Cali Fever"
Playing at:
Brooklyn Bowl (61 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg)
Get: Tickets | Directions

In the '90s, a “funk band” invariably meant noodly guitar heroes traveling the jam band circuit. But thanks to groups like Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings and the Budos Band, we’ve been getting a dose of the real stuff in New York City for quite some time now. The guys (and gal) of Orgone are newish players in the deep soul music revival, and have quickly risen to become one of the pillars of the California scene. “Cali Fever” is representative of the signature Orgone style: deliciously greasy, Afro-flavored funk, grooving till kingdom come.
