"Turbulent Zone (Music for Expanded Ears)"
Playing at: The Stone (16 Avenue C, East Village)

Kato Hideki is one of the leading figures in Japan’s experimental noise music scene. Since 1992, he’s been spreading musical mayhem in New York City. Whereas many new music composers get lost in the electronic realm, Hideki’s music is is rooted in exploring physical instruments and acoustic spaces. In “Turbulent Zone,” Hideki bangs, bows, and plucks an electric bass to elicit sounds we never thought possible.
