In a German airport, an Israeli pianist and a Malian guitarist crossed paths, changing both of their musical destinies. Idan Raichel, the pianist, had already been a huge fan of Vieux Farka Toure, the guitarist, so it did not take him long to suggest playing together. The resulting album is called The Tel Aviv Sessions. Watch a video of the Toure-Raichel Collective performing "Azawad."
